THE DARK HEDGES
The Dark Hedges is the name given by the locals to this Beech tree lined avenue named Bregagh Road near the village of Armoy in Co Antrim.
It's not the camera, it's the photographer that makes the image. Here we have the now famous tree lined road in history thanks to the television show "Game of Throws". What I can remember, this image was taken just as there had started to film in Northern Ireland. The plan was to stop here on the way home after a few days shooting along the Antrim coast. We had a fine misty rain all morning and this continued as I captured this images. Didn't realy matter as the camera was under the cover of the trees. This was taken with my pocket camera at the time, a Canon G10, using my fully loaded Canon EOS 5D MkII as a support. Yes I rested the G10 on top of the 5D which was on the tripod in the middle of the road. I have a 36 inch print framed hanging in the front room of my house and it looks stunning even if I do say so my self.
